You will enjoy a friendly atmosphere. The beginners will learn to watch thoroughly, to concentrate and to loosen up the hand. Step by step you will get familiar with shapes, contrasts, compositions, volumes, colors, shadows and lights and of course also the materials. You will draw with a pencil, a pen or a charcoal crayon and paint with acrylic or oil paints giving free rein to your imagination.

More advanced participants will focus on improving their technique et developing their own style.

Location :

The workshops take place at the «Grange de Mons», located on the Saint-Simon road in Assier (5 miles from the Domaine de la Piale). The «Grange de Mons» belongs to the Domaine de Mons, an old Knights Templar preceptory that sits on almost 500 acres.

A lunch for all the participants can be organized

5 days Workshop (4 to 8 participants)

- every morning form 9am until 12:30am
- in the afternoon you can either practice on your own (painting and drawing) or visit the many touristic highlights of the region (Rocamadour, Padirac, Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, Conques, Figeac, Sarlat...).

Ceramic weekend «Hands in clay» in Assier, in the atelier of Sylvie Piaud, professional ceramist whose creations are exhibited in France and abroad since many years.

Ceramic for everybody, an invitation to meet the clay, for a sensitive approach of the material and the colours.
To please yourself, fulfill a dream, feel the emotion of creation or deepen your knowledge.

Discovering the techniques of the work with clay (hand-shaping, turning on a lathe, pinching, sculpting), the decoration and the high temperature firing.
